The seminar on “Know Your Philippine Currency and Counterfeit Detection” by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will be held on March 17th and 18th, 2010, in Tacloban, at the Economic and Financial Learning Center to be exact.
Lawyer Leonides Sumbi, acting deputy director of the BSP, said the seminar is intended to assist the public in recognizing genuine Philippine currency notes and guard against counterfeits.

The seminar is the BSP’s response to reports that counterfeit bills are circulating around the region, which includes the provinces of Leyte and Eastern Samar.
Sumbi is inviting representatives from utility companies, commercial establishments, universities and colleges, government institutions and local government units, and other interested parties, most especially those who handle cash, to attend the seminar.
As this is a public service seminar, no fees will be collected.
